Thandel Movie Review: After 'Love Story', the film was made in the combination of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. Chandoo Mondeti produced this film under the Geetha Arts banner. It is a film that has garnered good buzz before its release with good songs.. good promos. Let's see the features of this film that was released today.

Thandel Movie Story:

Raju (Naga Chaitanya) is a boy from Srikakulam area. Going fishing in the sea has been a profession that has been passed down in his family for generations. Continuing his father's legacy, he also does the same thing. In this process, Thandel becomes the leader of a group of fishermen. Satya (Sai Pallavi) is his life. She loves him just as much.

But in a situation where the lives of those who go fishing in the sea are not guaranteed, Satya asks Raju to stop that work. But he does not agree to it. In one case, no matter how much Satya insists, he goes fishing without listening. In this process, he.. and his group get caught by the Pakistani authorities. And did Raju's team escape from there or not.. What were the efforts made to bring him out.. Did Raju and Satya finally meet or not is the rest of the story.

Thandel Movie Analysis:

A love couple that looks good to watch.. The chemistry between them makes them seem like lovers.. Love scenes with a good feel.. Songs that make you want to listen to them again and again.. Beautiful visuals.. A problem that leads to a strong conflict between the lovers.. A drama around it.. What more do you need for a love story to grow? 'Thandel' has all this.

The first half, which the film team says about 'Thandel', seems to be an exaggeration.. It seems to lay a strong foundation to establish this film as one of the best love stories. But the attempt to increase the reach of this love story by adding a patriotic aspect did not work. It slightly damaged the feel of the love story and lowered the level of 'Thandel'. The Pakistan episode, which was expected to be the highlight of the film, did not live up to expectations. However, there are pluses in this film that make it forgetful.

'Thandel' is a film that added a little drama to the story that really happened. The thing that inspired Chandoo Mondeti's team to make this film was the drama of a group of Srikakulam fishermen who went into Pakistani waters and got stuck in that country for two years and reached their hometown after many attempts. It is very exciting to hear.

The film team has woven a fictional love story around this real episode and turned it into a film. However, the surprising thing is that the love story woven by Chandoo and the team is the highlight of this film rather than the real story that attracted everyone's attention. We have seen many love stories on the Telugu screen, but this love story, set between a boy and a girl from a family that lives by fishing on the seashore, gives the audience a new experience.

The love scenes that we always see seem different because of this backdrop. While the love feeling is surging in the songs, in the background music, and in the visuals, the good chemistry between the lead pair also works, making the love story of 'Thandel' entertain the audience.

The hero, who loves his profession very much, is afraid of what will happen to him because of that dangerous profession, and the heroine is about to quit that job. In this backdrop, the drama boils with the conflict between the two. While this conflict continues like this, the story becomes even more interesting as the hero gets stuck in Pakistan.

If the Pakistan episode had been handled a little more sensibly, 'Thandel' would have been different. But the attempt to elevate heroism and highlight the patriotic angle there changed the course of 'Thandel'. The Pakistan episode, which had been going on in an over-the-top style until then, could not be accommodated in the narrative style that was very sensitive and realistic.

You get the feeling of watching a different movie from the interval. And the things happening in Pakistan and India do not seem that exciting. You get the feeling that 'Thandel' is being spoiled by being hard-working. If you look at the way the Pakistan episode was handled, it seems like an attempt to increase the reach of the film so that it appeals to the masses. But it did not work out that well.

The strong emotion in the conflict between the hero and heroine before the Pakistan issue arose, and then missing it when such a big issue arose, is an indication that 'Thandel' is not on the right track. Another minus is the lack of strong emotional scenes that reflect the hero and heroine's anguish during separation. With a performer like Sai Pallavi on the other hand, if there had been good emotional scenes, the audience's hearts would have been heavy.

The director did not use this opportunity properly. However, the film gets back on track from the end of the Pakistan episode. They tried to build up the drama again from a turning point that comes at the stage where the hero team is being released. The ending scenes seem to be okay.

Towards the end, it is a love story that has lasted until the end. It would have been better if it had continued until the end without any brakes in the middle. However, despite some disadvantages, 'Thandel' is a good choice for those who like love stories. It can be said to be one of the different love stories that have come out recently.

Actors Performance:

As expected, the Naga Chaitanya-Sai Pallavi pair has become the main attraction of 'Thandel'. One of the two cannot be said to be more or less. We cannot even see them separately. The chemistry between the two is so good. The way Chaitu has made a makeover as a fisherman is very good. Not only has he changed his avatar.. his body language.. his accent.. he has shown a change in everything.

He acted measuredly without going overboard anywhere. There is something to be said about Sai Pallavi.. when she loves, we get excited. When she is sad.. we get moved. She has managed to make the audience feel all her emotions. The way she has shown the mental conflict of the character with gestures is amazing.

But we expect more from that character in the second half. The Tamil artists who played key roles in the movie, Naren, Karunakaran, have done well. Prithvi is also okay. Divya Pillai of 'Mangalavaram' fame has also impressed. Jabardast Mahesh.. The rest of the artists also did well.

Technical category:

After years of Devi Sri Prasad's 100 percent output as a music director, 'Thandel' can be said to be a film. After listening to this story, it seems like the songs that made him very excited. 'Bujjithalli'.. 'Highlesso'.. The filming of these two songs is also very good. Devi has used the themes of these songs for the background score and brought a good feel to the love scenes.

Songs.. There is nothing to point out in terms of background music. Shyam Dutt's cinematography is also very good. Art work.. VFX are also okay. There is no compromise on production values. The film is very rich. There is strength in the story presented by Karthik. Chandoo Mondeti has written an interesting screenplay for it. He has narrated this story authentically in the backdrop of Srikakulam.

The attention paid to everything from the accent to the dialogue is visible on the screen. Chandoo gets the best output from the Chaitu-Sai Pallavi pair. He handles the love scenes between them very well. Only in the case of the Pakistan episode, it seems that he should have gone with a different approach. If he had paid a little more attention to the second half.. 'Thandel' would have been a different level of film.
