The voice of Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn has been revealed in a new teaser for Joker: Folie à Deux, arriving this fall.
Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn voice in the long-awaited Joker sequel was revealed via a teaser, with no scenes. Officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel will introduce Lady Gaga as the new incarnation of Harley Quinn, and while images (including the recent poster) showed a preview of the character's look, her voice was never revealed.
Harley Quinn's voice was revealed on the film's official TikTok page. In the post, the character is heard whispering softly to Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix): "You can do anything you want... you're the Joker." It was also announced that the first trailer will be released on April 9th.
Written, directed, and produced by Todd Phillips (The Hangover trilogy, Crazy Birth, Traffickers), Joker: Folie à Deux (cost $200 million) is described as a jukebox musical, with at least fifteen famous songs, directed the 2019 film, which won Joaquin Phoenix an Oscar for his unforgettable performance.
Lady Gaga has joined the cast as Harley Quinn. Zazie Beetz is also expected to return, reprising her role as Sophie. Other cast members include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. For the moment, nothing has been revealed about the plot. The film's music was once again written by Hildur Guðnadóttir, an Icelandic composer who won the first Oscar of her career for the soundtrack of the first chapter.
The release date in Italian cinemas has been set for October 2, 2024.
